Gloria L. Baker

Healthcare Professional | Entrepreneur Nursing Student | Community Advocate

I build solutions that care for the whole person connecting healthcare, training, and community support into one ecosystem of impact.

Entrepreneurship and service are in my DNA. I was born and raised on Chicago’s West Side, where I watched my mother once a teen mom who later became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker work tirelessly to provide for our family. My maternal grandmother ran multiple businesses that served her community until tragedy abruptly ended her entrepreneurial legacy. I also spent time as a child in my paternal grandmother’s business, learning firsthand what it meant to serve others. From a young age, I vowed to honor that legacy by building something even bigger.

Today, I am doing exactly that and more. I am the founder of the Lovebird Healthcare Ecosystem, a comprehensive network that includes Lovebird Healthcare Solutions (in home care for seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities), Lovebird Healthcare Academy (training and certifying the next generation of caregivers), the Birdie Foundation (community programs and family support), and Nest Homes (transitional support housing and community development). I employed more than 300 people and served over 100 clients, proving that compassionate care and sustainable growth can coexist.

My path to healthcare has been shaped by personal loss. Witnessing my uncle’s death from kidney failure, my grandfather’s sacrifice in Vietnam, and my father’s battle with heart disease pushed me to create systems that truly make a difference. After earning certifications as a CNA, Phlebotomist, and Medical Assistant, I realized I needed to build something larger an ecosystem that addresses gaps in care, workforce training, and community support.

As a mother of four, I balance entrepreneurship, education, and community leadership while pursuing my nursing license. My work is purpose driven, focused on expanding access to compassionate care while empowering families, veterans, and seniors and training those who will care for them next. Emerging as a national voice in healthcare entrepreneurship, community transformation, and legacy driven leadership, I am shaping a future where care is accessible, empathetic, and sustainable. My grandmother’s legacy was cut short; mine is just beginning

Community Impact

Giving back is at the heart of my work. I’ve served as a volunteer doula with Chicago Volunteer Doulas, supported families at local food pantries, and worked with shelters to meet the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors.

Through the Birdie Foundation, I’m building programs that extend beyond healthcare helping families access resources, education, and holistic support that strengthen entire communities.

“When we serve with love, we create ripples of change that touch generations.”
